this was an awesome day. ali helped me with dinner and charlie helped fix the baby lock on the kitchen cabinets with his new tools. papa would be happy to know that he is getting very good with them.
i made lots of baby food with my friend kate a while back and we just finished the last one a week or so ago. i was so happy to be done with them because miss maggie had been eating more and more table foods. but wouldn't you know it, 3 days after her baby food ran out she wouldn't eat anything i gave her. it was almost like she was revolting the fact that i wasn't giving her baby food. i broke down and made some more. i am getting more lenient though because i didn't label them this time or even separate them for that matter. the orange is carrots and butternut squash and the green is broccoli, peas and green beans. all the veggies cost me $4.79 and took me about 4 hours to make. and maggie is very happy too.
oscar and i have been struggling lately. we don't seem to agree. he doesn't think he needs to listen to me or do what he is told and i think he needs to spend more time in time out as a result. this was a particularly hard day of fighting. he had already been in time out for the umpteenth time, it was 4 o clock and nothing was working. i was hitting the "i don't care wall". i put him in his booster seat, strapped in and told him to get comfortable. i left him in there while i was doing homework with the big kids. he said he was cold so i gave him a blanket. after about 20 minutes it was quiet. i went to investigate because quiet usually equals bad. not in this case. it meant this:
my first thought, "oh, i hope he is still breathing."
what a silly boy. he was out cold. he literally bored himself to sleep. awesome!
