We are a HAPPY family!!!!

happy new year!!!!!!

we had so much fun! we made fun decorations
ate lots of yummy food
watched a movie with our yumminess
tried out our new fondue that we got for christmas. thank you uncle rod & aunt michelle.

we even each got our own color
then we put the little ones to bed. we made silly hats and took lots of funny pictures. this one is my favorite though. we played spoons and monopoly junior so charlie could be the banker (it was his first time).
serving the bubbly
i learned something today. new years eve is lot more lame without a tv. we just did our own countdown in the kitchen and then ali & charlie just looked at us like "that was it?" apparently we throw a great party but lack in the final moment of it all. we will have to work on that.
oh well, they still had a super fun night with mom & dad.
the best thing i got from 2011 was my little miss maggie. our year was full of a lot of sickness. let's do a rundown here:

5 ear infections
2 allergy checkups
2 eye checks for livy's crazy eyes
8 well visits
1 strep
3 croup
1 broken wrist
6 x-rays
1 baby and all the expenses that come with that bundle of joy
2 ER visits
4 overnight stays at the hospital
2 surgeries
multiple rashes, high fevers, barfies, colds, coughs and runny noses

we spent thousands of dollars in medical this year alone. we met our family deductible in the second week of january for goodness sake. i am grateful that it was really nothing too major, but come on, let's try to have a healthier year this year.

here's to a happy and HEALTHY 2012

I hope you do have a healthier year! We were on a roll...no use of our deductible all year, and then we met the entire family deductible in one week in December. I should have known. Tim's coming home this year.

I love the hats, I may steal that idea for next year if I remember! You really didn't miss much on TV...bad singing, lame interviews and hosts, dumb jokes and when they started showing people kissing at midnight the kids were like "Why do we have to watch this?!?"

Love your posts. It brought back good memmories seeing your kids having a picnic in the family room. Used to do that when I was little it was so special when we did! We too have tradition of fondue new years eve and love it! We also don't have tv and you are so right about the final moment being lame. Maybe a select new years songs playing in the background 5 or ten minutes before countdown so its not so quiet after shouting happy new year! :) let me know of any ideas you come up with.
