day 4 - Mossy Caves

Sunday -
we started the day with early church. we almost made it on time. look at how cute ms maggie and grandma look together.
this is ryan's grandma willis, isn't she lovely????? oscar loved everything about her and had to sit by her for every meal.
here are ryan's mom, grandma and the kids taking the traditional picture on the front steps.
this is grandma's front yard. the kids had so much fun playing in it.
we wanted to go to the cemetery to take some pictures of headstones and to visit ryan's grandpa that died while ryan was on his mission.
here is ryan's uncle, oscar willis
noting like playing tag in the cemetery.
and now onto the mossy caves
love this one of oscar & ryan
see, look how mossy they are. they are not nearly as cool as the used to be i was told because they blocked off part of it that you used to be able to walk around.
this is the waterfall on the other side of the mossy cave

so much fun with uncle toby
grandpa is golfing with his walking stick to help the kids cool off.

Ryan was testing out his photography skills.
this is leaving the shutter open. it looks so cool.
love this one of daddy & daughter
oscar is scared to death
love this one of the boys
ryan wanted to find this particular spot where it all of a sudden gets really deep. they were using grandpa's walking stick to test it.
found it!!!!!!

we starting saying "suck in your face" right before the picture.
ryan decided to get in
he went all the way under
toby's turn. i love the back of his shirt, it fits him perfectly. he bought it in bryce canyon the day before. it says, "determination... the feeling you get right before you try to do something incredibly stupid." fits toby perfectly.....option c.
he got all the way in too
and the waterfall was attacking him
poor grandpa had to try and keep oscar under control. oscar wanted to get all the way in too but it was too swift.
what a pretty girl i have

toby decided to just walk down river......literally.
then he chose option "c" again.

oscar and his daddy
ryan and his daddy
brother & sister

grandma & grandpa willis have this really neat chimney in the attic space of the house. They have been having people sign their name for decades.
here is ours for this year
ryan did one for the whole family
ali did her own
charlie did his own too. his is my absolute favorite. we all call him charlie bucket and it drives him crazy but for some reason that's what he wrote. what a silly boy.
ali helped oscar write his.
she helped livy too and i just wrote maggie's
here is grandma willis' house on our way out of town.
we had such an amazing time in utah with grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins and bryce canyon. we loved it and can't wait to go back again.

I have no pictures for the next day. we left early on monday morning to drive back to boise. the trip started at the gas station where oscar threw up in ryan's hands. it continued with several more, one being on uncle toby at the creamery by byu. it was awesome!!!!! poor oscar. our van also started to have trouble on the way home. we were suppose to be back in boise around 8:00 pm, but with all the delays we rolled into our driveway around 1:30. longest. day. of. my. life.

more to come..............

I'm so glad your family got to experience our childhood vacation. I was just telling my kids about G.Willis' chimney and how we all used to sign it, so thank you for taking a picture of it! They loved seeing it. See blogs are awesome, they keep us all connected.
