on saturday we decided to take this kids on a field trip........to jail!!!

the kids had fun making their "jail faces"

this was what was left of the dining area.

this was solitary confinement. it was actually pitch black in there but you can't tell from the photo. it was so tiny.

they had this area with all sorts of weapons throughout the last centuries. they made this area into what it would feel like to be in a bunker. the kids had lots of fun.

we went on the tour right through miss livy's nap. by the end she had had enough and was being ornerier than all get out. we were in the last building which happened to be the women's facility. she got some corner time cause she wouldn't stop throwing a fit. it just looked too funny to NOT take a picture.

all in all, the kids really enjoyed being in jail. it was fun to pretend, but we were sure to remind them often, "be good, so you never have to go to a place like this."
