on saturday we went on a hike with just the big big kids. it is called bull valley gorge. this was down in the canyon looking up, so pretty. i love the contrast of color.

ryan, larry (ryan's dad), and toby

this was such a neat place to be and to take pictures.

we found these two rocks that we could balance between
here is toby posing like a normal person would......
and then what we like to call "option c". we made it up on this trip. we figure that when you come to an obstacle you can either; a) take the easiest way, b) take the more challenging but doable way, or c) make it as hard as possible and take a picture. toby picks option c a lot.
there are lots of boulders and tree trunks that get washed in there during the rainy months and then they get stuck.

what exactly is going on????

toby's turn for some awkwardness.
oh, that's right......... option c. ryan just decided to join him on this one.

way to conquer that rock boys!!!

and so humble about it too.

here is that truck that got stuck in the canyon. i wrote about it in the other post but in case you missed it, about 60 years ago there were 3 guys driving (drunk I think) and they were crossing this bridge and missed it. their truck got stuck in the canyon. no one survived and they couldn't get the truck out so they built a larger bridge on top of the truck.
it looks a little freaky when you are staring at it straight above you.
this is the bridge that the truck in under. you can't see it from this angle. the truck is located on the right hand side.
just a good picture of my hot hubby.

go to the light, toby!!!!

another option c for toby.

ryan must have been feeling left out and wanted in on it.

timer, nobody else was there with us.
so toby thought it would be a good idea to jump over this canyon. we made toby give us a thumbs up so in case he didn't make his wife will know that this was his idea.
good jump toby

we wanted to do a picture on top of the rock. toby wanted to do a test run with a stick. then the stick landed right where he needed to land.
ryan walked over to go get it and volunteered to catch him.
love it!!!!! now don't do that anymore!!!!

this is from that bridge. if you click on the picture and zoom in you will see toby on the side of the canyon. he went over there to get a picture of the truck under the bridge.

did you know ryan's family is famous over in southern utah???? ryan's grandma and grandpa are part of the willis family and they basically founded a lot of things in this area. that's where we got mr oscar's middle name from.
nothin says country like a good ole 4 wheeling drive in your neighborhood. this is how lots of people get around down here.
such a fun day, and everyone survived.
