last night was christmas in germany. from the website it says:
Children leave letters on their windowsills for Christkind, a winged figure dressed in white robes and a golden crown who distributes gifts. Sometimes the letters are decorated with glue and sprinkled with sugar to make them sparkle.
we decided to write out letters to santa
here is what livy answered when i asked her what she wanted: christmas, snow, pretty presents, airplane toy and a buzz lightyear toy. she seemed to catch on to it near the end.
i love this kid's smile. charlie asked for: a pet hamster, pelopet hamster, mocoutrol monster truck, toy moshen gun, molcuntrol helucpter. love it.
ali wanted: a sewing machine, remote control helicopter, more colered paper and a unicorn pellow pet. yeah, like santa can afford a sewing machine?
oscar was funny. he said he wanted: a spinning light guard?, a lever, truck race car, a BIG airplane toy (this was only after live requested a regular sized airplane toy, always have to one-up 'em), a christmas toy and a tool machine. after the first request he looked up at me and said, "does that make sense?" i told him no but that i would still write it.
yeah, we are done
this is where the kids left their letters/posters
and this is what they found the next morning. they know that it is us doing it for them because santa isn't ready to come yet. we told them that these presents are from us and instead of getting them all at christmas we are spreading them out. they are ok with that.
here is mags. she didn't write a letter to santa
so excited to open their gifts this morning
new books!!!!! ali got harriet the spy, charlie got nate the great, oscar got a book about a dog named oscar, livy got a new church book and maggie got a baby einstein book.
just look how excited little mag pie is for her new book.
do you notice the blanket and pillow on the couch? that's because ryan slept there last night. no, we didn't get into a fight. livy woke up at 2:00 a.m. to join us in our bed. then she decided to barf on our bed, our floor, herself and me. awesome. i cleaned up liv and myself and ryan cleaned up the bed and the floor. i even got it in my hair. after all the craziness, we all laid down together in the new sheets. it wasn't 2 minutes later that livy starting making the dreaded sounds again. luckily, i caught it all this time. but poor ryan couldn't handle the sounds and grossness of it all. he asked if he could leave. so me and livy continued to get up every 20 minutes or so for a lot of false alarms. she did have one more real one around 6, but nothing since then.
it's been a fun morning! psych! oh, you remember saying that? we were so cool back then.

If you get lucky you could find a sewing machine at a thrift store. Bro Nielsen found me one two years ago for $20. May be you can ask him.
